Bio

Carol Stevens started writing children’s books after working as a reporter, editor, communications professional and writing teacher. She lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband and their two cats. Every summer, she vacations on the shores of Crescent Beach, Ontario, where Mona the Mermaid stories have been told for several generations. It’s no surprise, then, that Carol’s adult daughter, Claire Brady, brought to life Mona and the creatures of Crescent Bay through her illustrations. When she isn’t writing children’s books, Carol teaches creative writing to adult learners with the Arlington (VA) Public School System.
